Performance led vocal coaching
Hi, I’m Christie. I’m a vocal coach.
With nearly three decades experience as a coach and elite performer, I draw from both my extensive training and my own performing background to help my clients sing better without getting tired.
What Does That Mean?
I really believe you can feel better and sound better at the same time, and yes, sounding like the most beautiful version of ‘you’ is important! I don’t believe you need to do months of extreme exercises ‘sorting, unpicking, or unpacking’ before a beautiful tone emerges – beauty of tone and vocal health should go hand in hand and should reveal themselves pretty quickly with simple exercises which rebalance and rehabituate inefficient patterns.
How Can I Help You?
Production support and consultation.
Prepare for auditions and incorporate casting director feedback into your recalls using vocal technique.
Shift styles (adapt your natural sound to sing in a different genre).
Improve vocal facility and learn how to riff.
Refresh your audition material and find rep for your showreel.
Reduce vocal fatigue through restorative exercises.
How Do I Work?
It is important to me that my regular clients feel like they have access to me when they need me. If you are a regular client, I will work as a member of your team. That means, prioritising you for last-minute audition requests, specialised warm ups, vocal health advice and attending your gigs and delivering feedback. I prefer to work in person, but I do online lessons and warm ups for touring clients.
If you are a new client or just need a check in every now and then, that is also fine, and I always do my best to accommodate new professional clients.

What is My Background and Experience

In addition to managing an active private studio, I teach on the BA (hons) courses at Arts Ed and Mountview Theatre School.
I am a member of the voice clinic team at the NHS Disordered Voice Unit in Lewisham where I support a team of world class clinicians in helping professional voice users reclaim their vocal health and careers after injury and illness.
